Updated Guidance Regarding EDGAR File Size Limits

The EDGAR Business Office announced on Jan. 30, 2026, that updated guidance is available regarding EDGAR file size limits, including information regarding how filers can ensure that their file size meets EDGAR requirements.

Filers should be mindful of file size limits — 200 MB (including all attachments) in most instances, although 600 MB for certain specified forms and 800 MB for a combined 10-D/ABS-EE submission.

In addition, filers should observe the following:

1. Eliminate repetitive or unnecessary HTML and/or CSS;
2. Do not embed images into HTML using Base64 encoding;
3. Only provide one copy of each unique image in the filing;
4. Compress images in lossy JPG format; and
5. Add page containers.
